With our certifications in James Hardie Siding, Cedar siding, vinyl siding, wood siding, Tyvek, and OSI – you will be guaranteed of the manufacturer warranty and have peace of mind that your siding will not fail.

Cedar Siding

Cedar siding is a classic siding option, made from cedar trees, that has been used on homes since the 1800s. It can be formed into a variety of thicknesses and widths, and it can be painted or stained. Cedar is available in many different styles, including bevel, board-and-batten, tongue-and-groove, lap, trim, and shingle.

Advantages of Cedar Siding

Long Lasting and Durable

Cedar has excellent resistance to rot, bacteria, fungi and mildew, which makes it a much tougher wood that is less likely to have problems. If you provide proper care, your cedar siding will last for many decades. It is a low maintenance siding unlike any other wood. Cedar siding is also tough and resistant to problems such as splitting, swelling and bending.

Curb Appeal

There are very few exterior materials that have the same warmth, beauty and natural appeal of cedar siding. Most homeowners prefer this type of siding because it is very attractive and blends in perfectly with most backgrounds.

Eco-Friendly

Typically, wood siding is not seen as an environmentally conscious choice for your home’s exterior. However, cedar wood is an exception because it requires minimal processing and treatment. Once it completes it is time to upgrade or replace the siding, it is completely biodegradable!

Provides Insulation

Cedar siding is an excellent insulator and can save you a considerable energy throughout the year. It prevents the loss of warm air during the winter and keeps in cool air during the summer.

Vinyl Siding

Vinyl siding has been one of the most popular choice for siding in America since the late 1950s. It is no surprise that it has been popular for so long because of it’s afforadability and durability.
Benefits of Vinyl Siding

Affordability

Vinyl siding is typically a popular choice for homeowners because it is a very cost effective option. According to This Old House, vinyl costs about $1.60 per square foot to install compared to cedar siding which costs about 2.5 times more.

Versatility

Think of a color, any color – vinyl siding probably comes in that shade. If you chose to install vinyl siding on your home you have almost complete creative freedom to design your dream home. It also comes in various textures and sizes. You can install vinyl that looks just like cedar shingles or even Victorian scallops.

Durability and Ease

Vinyl siding is one of the easiest exterior options to maintain, especially considering it does not require paint. The only thing required to maintain your siding is to hose it down and wipe it with a clean cloth. It can also withstand extreme weather conditions, moisture, heat and cold.

Stone Veneer Homes

Stone veneer is commonly used on home exteriors as a cost effective alterantive to natural stone walls. It is also used in interiors in various places like chimneys, walls and backsplashes. Stone veneer comes in many different styles, sizes and colors making it a great option for any home.

Benefits of Stone Veneer

Cost Effective

Typically, stone veneer is 30% to 50% less of the price of natural stone and has a great return on investment. According to a 2017 Remodeling Magazine report, statistics showed that homeowners that invested in stone veneer got an average of 104.5% ROI.

Variety in Design

Since stone veneer is essentially just cement, the design process is extensive to ensure it looks like stone. There are many different processes the veneer can go through, meaning there are countless designs and color options – there is sure to be one that suits your style!

Longevity

Good quality stone veneer can last for quite a long time, with warrenties ranging from 30-50+ years. Just like any other house exterior material, as long as you regularly maintain the product, it will last a lifetime.

Stucco Homes

Stucco is a type of plaster that is most commonly used on the exterior of a building but can also be used on the interior of a building as well. Stucco looks like clay or cement and is one of the oldest types of siding material in the world. In fact, stucco was widely used in ancient Greece over 1,000 years ago and is still being used today.
There are plenty of advantages for using stucco on the exterior of your home. Stucco plaster is very long lasting and extremely durable, which is why it’s such a popular option for many. But did you know stucco is fire resistant? In fact, a one-inch layer of stucco plaster applied properly could add a one-hour fire rating to the wall in which the stucco plaster is applied.
Stucco makes a great building surface that is durable, fire resistant and it can be added to just about any surface whether that be brick, wood or something else. Stucco is usually applied using two or three coats that have been applied over a metal reinforcing mesh or wood lathing.
Additionally, stucco is versatile enough that it can be customized. It can be applied smooth, rough or patterned. Beisas Legacy Construction is the leader in Stucco application within the Portland metro area and the beyond. We service Portland, Lake Oswego, Gresham and beyond. Beisas Legacy’s stucco application experts can help you select the perfect stucco plaster exterior and customization for your home. Call us today to schedule a FREE estimate.

Traditional Appeal

One of the reasons we believe in Hardie fiber cement siding is because of it’s visual versatility. Have you seen HardieShingles? Straight edge or staggered, these shingles offer an entirely different look versus HardieBoard or HardiePanel. They also come with James Hardie’s 30-year limited warranty! If you want of more traditional look for your Tudor, Cape Cod or other classically-styled home, HardieShingle is a great option!

In the old days, wooden shingles were hand-split from heartwood and finished using a draw knife to make a snug, waterproof barrier. Obviously, you can still do that. But the cost (time, money and environmental degradation,) has changed since then. Luckily, James Hardie makes HardieShingles. These are made using the same technology as all the Hardie fiber cement siding products. That means fewer trees are cut to create the siding. Since the components are cement, sand and wood fiber, HardieShingle can go to the landfill where it will biodegrade upon the end of its service life- unlike some other siding products.

Go Vertical!

If you have a more contemporary home, HardiPanel cement fiber siding may be right for you. Especially if you like the idea of a 30-year limited warranty, that your panels are manufactured using locally-sourced materials or the fact that once their useful life is over, HardiePanels biodegrade in the landfill.
Available in Stucco, Smooth, Cedarmill wood grain, and Sierra 8 wood grain finishes this versatile product is not just for modern-styled homes. HardiePanel looks great as an accent for the other Hardie cement fiber siding products.
As with all of the Hardie Siding products, these panels can be painted, are insect, flame and UV resistant and when installed by experienced professionals (like the ones at Beisa’s Legacy,) carry a limited 30-year warranty.

Classic Lines

Some homeowners want it all. They want the value and durability of fiber cement siding, but demand more style, more detail. Their home must appear distinctly refined, similar to other houses on their block, just better. For those homeowners, only James Hardie Artisan Series premium fiber cement siding will do.
James Hardie fiber cement siding is a great product. The Artisan Series offers thicker boards, better definition of shadow lines and a thirty year warranty.
Of course you get a great ROI home improvement project done, same as the neighbor who got regular HardiePlank, you just get bragging rights too.

If you’re putting your home on the market, that guarantee becomes a selling point and your home has a beautiful, durable finish in a color selected by industry-leading design professionals. That means every color you see available in your area has been picked by an color design expert and researched for regional appeal before it’s even in the running to be selected for inclusion into the ColorPlus line. Of course, if you prefer the extra work of taping, prepping, painting and cleanup, we won’t judge.

Primer

When it comes to preparing your painting surface specific steps are required. Preparation and primer are a must for the longevity of your project. Think of the primer as double-sided sticky-tape, it’s what ensures your paint will stay stuck to the surface. JamesHardie has two distinctive primers – green for HZ5 & gold for HZ10 – both specifically created for climate & performance enhancement of the siding products.

ColorPlus® Technology

Not only do you have the option to have your siding pre-painted from the factory, but it’s the best in it’s class. JamesHardie ColorPlus Technology is a multiple-step baked on technique in order to ensure a long lasting and consistent vibrancy for your home.

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)

You have probably heard of a mother-in-law suite or garage conversion – the techincal term is accessory dwelling unit (ADU). They have been growing in popularity in the Portland Metro area and there’s no surprise why. According to the City of Portland, “an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) is a second dwelling unit created on a lot with a house, attached house or manufactured home. The second unit is created auxiliary to, and is smaller than, the main dwelling”. They can be created in many different ways – from an addition to your home, a conversion of a basement or garage or building a brand new structure in your backyard.
Not sure an ADU is for you? Here are some examples of how you could utilize your new addition:
  • Building a distraction-free office or workspace that would make working from home even better
  • Adding an additional source of income to help pay for mortgage. Countless Portlanders renting out their ADU, whether for short-term vacation rentals or long-term tenants.
  • Expanding living space for family to live in. Exactly the reason they are commonly refered to as a ‘mother-in-law suite’.
  • Some brave homeowners will even move into an ADU addition and rent out their main house, so they can downsize without giving up their property rights!

Attic and Basement Conversions

Converting your attic or basement is one of the best (and easiest) ways to get more square footage out of your home – because it is already there! Whether you have a dusty attic or a dark, cold basement, there is the potential to create a beautiful space to fit your needs.

Basement Conversion

Unfinished basements are typically something homeowners ignore at all costs, unless they have to go down there to do laundry or fix their water heater. However, basements are full of potential and could create a fantastic space that you would want to spend time in!
The possiblities for your basement conversion are endless. Do your kids need more space to play? Add a downstairs playroom. Or maybe a more adult-friendly space with a bar and wine cellar? One of our favorite ways to transform basement spaces is to turn it into a accessory dwelling unit, which gives you the opporunity to turn your unutilized space into an income property.
The process of converting a basement and making sure it is up to code can be tricky. Our experts here at Beisa’s Legacy can help you with all the aspects – from the estimate, to the design process and throughout the whole build. We will work with you and your vision to create the basement of your dreams!

Attic Conversion

“Adding up” is a popular choice because you get the extra space you are seeking in your home, without have to alter the foundation or building on any extra space. Just like any remodel, there are obstaces to go around when altering your home, but we have the experience and expertise to help you create a fantastic space.
Converting your attic is also helpful for your wallet because it will provide full insulation, which will help keep your energy bill low during the summer and winter months.
The city of Portland has many rules when it comes to converting your attic or basement – which you can read about here. However, the Beisa’s Legacy expert Design+Build team is well aware of these rules, making us the best choice for converting these spaces. We will work with you every step of the way and listen to all of your ideas and concerns. Starting with a meeting with our expert designer and architect (if needed), then once you approve of the plans we can get started on creating your dream space!

After the design is finalized, our professional crew will be there to  complete your project with the attention to detail you seek.
Not sure if you are ready for a bathroom remodel? Here are a few reasons why it might be time to upgrade:
  • It is common in the older Craftsman homes that are all across the Portland Metro to only have one bathroom. Adding an additional bathroom could help solve many space and time issues your family might be having.
  • Design trends are ever changing, and the changes in bathroom styles is greater than most other rooms in your house. Make sure your home is up-to-date with design trends by upgrading your bathroom.
  • Most homeowners think about upgrading their bathroom when it comes time to sell their home. Bathroom remodels provide one of the biggested return on investments compared to the rest of the home.
